Yanaka

Yanaka area ranges from Yanaka Cemetery to east, Kototoi street to north, Shinobazu street to west and there is Ueno park in south. A lot of temples were built during the Edo period and the area developed as a temple town. Yanaka remains an old town atomosphere with many historical and traditional buildings. In 2007, regarded as one of “the best 100 historical sights in Japan”, Yanaka is very popular tuorinst sighs among not only Japanese people but also forighners. There are about 70 temples and among them some temles has highlights. For example, an old mud wall of Kannonji can be said the symbol of this area. Walking around the area, you can feel a warmheated old town atomosphere and relax.
