Situated in the west of Tokyo, Shibuya is a vibrant, busy and, faddish shopping and entertainment district filled with department stores and boutiques. Shibuya-ku (Shibuya ward) includes a few popular areas such as Harajuku, Omotesando and Takeshita-Dori, Yoyogi Park, Meiji Jingu shrine and Sendagaya.

Shibuya is also rich in culture. There are many movie theaters and galleries hosting art and movie festivals. At the east of the station, a huge new business complex, Shibuya Hikarie, opened in April 2012. Additionally, Shibuya has a number of consumer electronic stores like in Akihabara.
