This historical district is located to the east of Shinjuku, right next to JR Iidabashi station, has been known as a prestigious hanamachi (a district with geishas). Many restaurants and bars line along its main street, but once you turn to the smaller alleyways, you will find yourself in peace and quiet in the district of high-end restaurants. The scenic historical district in this hilly area attracts many visitors, who come here simply to enjoy walking in the serene setting. Interestingly enough, L’Institute Francais is located here and so are a number of great French restaurants!
