The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, some 90 kilometers long, is an internationally-known mountain sightseeing route, going across the 3,000-meter-high North Alpine mountains. The route links Tateyama-machi in Toyama prefecture and Omachi-shi in Nagano prefecture. One of the main attractions on this route is the magnificent scenery of the Tateyama Mountain Range, along with hiking trails and charming alpine flowers. There are numerous picturesque sites along the route, including the dynamic Kurobe Gorge and Kurobe Dam, where you may enjoy the the splendor of mother nature. Note that the route is packed with visitors during holidays except in winter, especially during the autumn leaf season.
