Kurashiki and Onomichi
|
Just 16km from Okayama, Kurashiki is best known for his historical district, which is declared as a Historically Significant Traditional Buildings Preservation Area. Located in the south of JR Kurashiki station, the Bikan Historical Quarter has 85 old black-tiled storehouses built between the 18th and 19th centuries. Visitors can enjoy strolling around this picturesque district and be pleasantly surprised by a Greek temple-style building, the Ohara Museum of Art. One hour train ride from Kurashiki will take you to another scenic destination, Onomichi, famous for its many historic temples. (Photo Copyright JNTO)
