Yamanashi

Yamanashi is an inland prefecture with 80% of its land covered by forests. Yamanashi abounds with nature: Mt.Fuji is in the south; spectacular 3000-meter mountain ranges; popular Fuji Five Lakes and beautiful valleys. All of these nature wonders provide abundant opportunities for outdoor activities. The prefecture is also a top fruit producer in the country. Many orchards grow a variety of fruits such as grapes and peaches. It has Japan’s biggest vineyard producing internationally acclaimed Koshu wine.
