Saga
|
Saga had deep relationships with ancient China and Korea. Porcelain China and brownware were first brought to Saga by Chinese and Korean people. After a long period of time, Saga has won international acclaim as the production site of quality ceramics. The prefecture is also a rice producing area. Rice cropping first reached the Saga Plains from ancient China and Korea, and a huge circular moat settlement was built in this area in the Yayoi Period. Tourists can learn about the ancient history by visiting Yoshinogari Ruins.
