The charm of Niseko is not limited to winter. In summer, the Niseko Outdoor Center provides various programs of outdoor recreation including canoeing, fishing, Hiking and trekking. One of the most popular programs is canoeing and rafting down Shiribetsu river, which is fairly gentle and was named the clearest river in Japan four years in a row. For more advanced climbers, venturing on a route up Mount Yotei is recommended, while for the less experienced there are trails along the shore of Lake Shinsen-numa.
