Naoshima

Naoshima is a small island with about 3300 inhabitants in the Seto Inland Sea in Kagawa prefecture, known for its picturesque view and collection of contemporary art galleries and exhibits. Blessed with nature, the coast of the island is a pleasant place for biking and walking. The Benesse Art Site Naoshima attempts to produce a new type of experience along with outstanding architecture within the embrace of the island’s allure and characteristic culture. A number of houses have been radically reformed in the Art House Project. Also, visitors can enjoy a wonderful classic Japanese Bunraku (puppet theater) on Naoshima.
