Many historic holy spots scatters across Mie Prefecture. The highlight of Mie, Ise-jingu Shrine, used to be a sacred place that Japanese people must visit once in a lifetime. Ise Shima area has beautiful coastal lines. Kumano Kodo is the connecting route from Ise to Kumano Sanzan in Kii Mountain Range and is the first “cultural landscape” in Japan to be designated as a UNESCO World Heritage.
