Kanazawa

Lying on the northwest coast of Honshu, Kanazawa, in Ishikawa prefecture, is a favored tourist destination, whch has been the economic and cultural center in the region. During the Edo Period, the Maeda Clan, one of the most powerful feudal clans, controlled the district. A number of places and cultural heritage allure tourists: Tera-machi, a temple town; Kenroku-en Garden, famous for the yuki-tsuri; Nohgaku, a traditional Japanese art: and geisha. Fortunately, Kanazawa escaped destruction during the WWII, thus part of the old town such as chaya entertainment district remains in good condition today.
