Hyogo

Kobe is the capital of Hyogo, and is the most famous city within the prefecture. It is a city developed around the port, which started trading with the United States in 1858 and has been influenced by American culture ever since. Himeji Castle is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site as well as Japan’s cultural treasure. The original design of the castle is preserved. The castle even has a maze to trap the invaders. For baseball fans, Kohshien Stadium is the venue for high school baseball tournaments.
