Opened in 1931, Haneda Airport, also known as Tokyo International Airport, has been serving its passengers as the hub of Tokyo. It was used mainly as a domestic airport since Narita International Airport opened in 1978; however, Haneda Airport opened its international terminal in the end of October 2010.

Even through the years Haneda Airport was just flying domestic flights, it had the biggest number of arrival and departure flights, as well as passengers in Japan. Since it is closer to the city center of Tokyo than Narita International Airport, the prime minister and the Imperial family of Japan usually take off from this airport. Also, many foreign ambassadors and royal families land at Haneda Airport for the same reason.

It is obviously a place where you go when you have a flight taking off from or touching down at, but Haneda Airport is a destination on its own. There are hundreds of restaurants and shops that you can even buy clothes, bags, accessories and toys. Some original products such as crème puffs, roll cakes, and cheesecakes to name a few, can only be bought at Haneda Airport.

With its revival open to the international flights, airlines, airport itself, and the area are all putting efforts into promoting Haneda once again.
