What is “WAttention”?

WAttention is a coined term containing “和 (wa)”, which, in Japanese, means “peace”, “calm” and “uniquely Japanese”, and the word “attention”. Since “wa” also has the connotation of ”link”, we gave our magazine the name in hopes of bringing more attention to “wa” and making a link between Japan and the world.

I am proud to introduce you to WAttention, the magazine made with the aim of present you the best of Japan – from the very latest trends to the most traditional aspects of its culture -.

Japanese culture and products, from the delicate food and design to unique fashion, are becoming more familiar and even a part of everyday life all over the world. With the global acceptance of our culture expanding,  there has never been a better time to introduce more unique and authentic bounty of Japan.

Along with the latest trends, our aim is to also showcase the roots of Japan’s inherent customs, culture and history. That is the driving force behind WAttention, and I hope it will further fuel your curiosity about our country.
